Loacl campaigners sent this letter to the ABD in May 2002, after successfully getting some 20MPH limits in Weston-Super-Mare scrapped.

Dear Sir,

Apologies for not contacting you for a while but I have just had confirmation (yesterday) that the Council are going to remove our roads from the 20MPH zone. Fantastic news!!!

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you, most sincerely, for your invaluable advice and assistance. If it was not for your informative E Mails, I would not have been able to do more research on the matter. As a consequence of your advice I managed to confront the Council with some pretty conclusive evidence, four Councillors took interest in the matter and during one closed door meeting, the Highways Manager in charge of the scheme burst into tears when confronted with evidence.

As you can imagine, the last few weeks have been extremely tense to say the least. Needless to say, the matter was put before an Executive Member and, to coin a phrase, the rest is history.

Should you come across anyone else who is faced with a similar problem, please do not hesitate to put forward my E Mail address, I will gladly advise them on how to drive a council to distraction!!!!

Joking apart, I really am very grateful for your advice and assistance and your Association has been mentioned to many of my colleagues.

Once again, many thanks.

Yours sincerely,
